Jump was an immediate hit becoming Van Halen’s most successful single, reaching number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. MTV played it day and night; and we still didn’t tire of it. Existing Van Halen fans were not as pleased with the direction the band had gone, much preferring the heavier version of the bands’ earlier albums; also blaming the song for the future break up of the band.
